Artificial Intelligence Use Disclosure
Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
The Firm may utilize artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools in the course of providing legal services, including for research, drafting, document review, and data analysis. Such use is consistent with the Firm’s duty of competence and its obligation to employ reasonable, efficient methods in delivering legal services.
Attorney Oversight and Independent Judgment
In accordance with Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Ethics Opinion 705, all AI-assisted work is subject to appropriate attorney supervision, review, and verification. The Firm exercises independent legal judgment in all matters and does not rely on AI-generated content without professional evaluation.
Confidentiality and Safeguards
The Firm will take reasonable measures to protect client confidential information when using AI tools, consistent with Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1.05 and Opinion 705. This includes evaluating whether AI providers:
- retain or use submitted data,
- incorporate inputs into training models, or
- present a risk of unauthorized disclosure.
The Firm will not knowingly input confidential or privileged information into AI systems in a manner that would compromise confidentiality or waive privilege.
Accuracy and Limitations
AI tools may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. The Firm does not rely on such outputs without verification and does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content independent of attorney review.
Fees and Billing
Consistent with Rule 1.04, the Firm will not charge fees that are unreasonable or duplicative due to the use of AI tools. The use of AI is intended to improve efficiency and will not be used to inflate billable time.
Client Acknowledgment and Consent
By entering into this Agreement, the Client acknowledges and consents to the Firm’s use of AI tools in a manner consistent with applicable ethical obligations, including Texas Ethics Opinion 705.
Client Option to Limit AI Use
The Client may request in writing that the Firm limit or refrain from using AI tools in connection with the representation. The Firm will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests; however, the Client acknowledges that doing so may affect efficiency, timelines, and cost. The Firm reserves the right to adjust its fees accordingly or to decline or withdraw from representation if such restrictions materially impair the Firm’s ability to provide competent and efficient legal services.
